It’s the journey not the destination ~Every Biker Everywhere

I really want to be in my RV now!!  It’s hard for me to wait but there is so much to do – I need to enjoy the ride – and not rush thru things –

I have learned the following are the top six RVs based on consumer reports – I want to focus on the top models because I lack a lot of mechanical knowledge and these RVs are well rated for durability, quality and solid engine build – I realize it will be a bit more $$$ initially but I believe it will more than pay for itself later on –

There are other manufacturers such as Jayco and Thor however since there is a significant break at the four point rating in this list I will focus on the RVs that are rated 4.0 and above – target length +/-30 ft, no longer than 32 for my driving/towing comfort –

I am thankful that I have project mgmt. skills ‘cuz I’m gonna need a bigger spreadsheet to keep everything on track to complete home sale and RV purchase tasks on time plus work thru all the emotional baggage!! But one step at a time –

Here is the RV consumer’s Average Overall Rating for RV Manufacturers

I like the Tiffin Allegro – but that was just from last night’s search – LOL

I am almost finished reading my 2nd RV book and I am learning more and more! New knowledge doesn’t change my mind on RV’ing only strengthens my convictions to do it! 💜

I may not remember all the juicy details gleaned from these books right now but with experience and repetition on the road these new thoughts and knowledge will become habits –

OK I did not start on shredding old docs this weekend like I had planned – I had to work on pool maintenance to keep it blue – and then enjoyed being a floatie for a couple hours both Saturday and Sunday – I will miss my pool but it is a trade off for having a new view out my door every couple of weeks!! Plus no more algae killing chemicals to buy in bulk!!

One chapter in this book focused on ‘how to get rid of your stuff’ and another section focused on ‘how to get Health Care on the road’ both very good sections – also how to get a domicile residency requirement – all are relatively easy steps – it’s a good list of things I must add to my current to do list – along with all the shredding of the old docs – LOL

The more I research into RVs and living the RV lifestyle full time the more I am convinced this is the correct path forward for me – finding God’s chosen path for me is always in my prayers especially now that I am solo – I know God hears, listens and richly blesses His children!!  However I need to also do my part!!  Continue to research, learn and apply new knowledge to make the best balanced decisions going forward!!

Also completing a necessary physical task every day will make the overwhelming job of sorting thru 42+ years of two-some memorabilia easy work to do – 8 months (May 2019) will be just enuf time to sell/donate and dump stuff & prep house for sale – I am targeting next summer to sell – I will put my realtor details here at that time to share with others –

Today I saved $51 as I re-did and streamlined some current vehicle insurance coverage and got great info about cost for RV coverage as well – it appears that these new rates are very doable and well within my budget!

And next April (approx. 6 months) I will implement my pool resurfacing process – going out for bids, negotiating cost – plus the fun part of picking new tile and color for the pool! I do love my pool!  As far as doing any upgrades for the inside of the house prior to sale? No – I am OK with decreasing the sale price a bit to entice new owners into buying – so they will feel miles ahead with their purchase – <grin>

Special Day

I feel today I have made very good progress in observing a year on from such a devastating loss it was hard to breath – realizing everything is now all new and nothing is ever going to be the same has genuinely helped strengthen my deep faith and trust in Jesus and helped me to keep moving forward to find the joy and fun in life again –

Friends, family and therapy help too!

Tomorrow I will finish the Beginner’s Guide to Living In An RV – it’s a very good book with many answers –

The Journey Begins

Thanks for joining me!

Today I take a solo step forward – into blogging –

I’m already miles ahead from where I started a year ago – both mentally and physically but now getting ready for the miles ahead that I want to travel in an RV and blog with you – so I thought that would be a great initial blog title – playing off of this duality for the name of my little site!

At this time I am beginning to get my home ready to sell early next summer – there is much to do – not only the cleaning and packing but going thru 42+ years of two-some memorabilia and loving treasures 💜 I won’t bore you with much of that now just know it is a huge task to work thru –

So today is my blog start – like the song says: The future’s so bright – you gotta wear shades!! 😎
